Hilesh Narendra Patel was born in Tanzania in 1974. He is an artist who writes, paints and makes music. Recently surviving colon cancer, Hilesh continues to battle residual side effects from chemotherapy, a further mis-diagnosed brain cyst, and still seeks resolution of his loss of sensation in his hands and feet.

Despite his medical difficulties, Hilesh continues to write, paint, make music (and cook). He works with spray paint, oils, acrylics, watercolor, wood, paper, canvas, cloth, two turntables, kaoss pad, microphones, tuning forks, a mixer and occasionally ginger and garlic. He has worked with the audio-visual collectives a-very-sensitive-device and pixel brat. Hilesh became a father in early 2005, and lives with his son, Atticus, his wife Irene, her daughter Gabrielle, and their dog and cat in Chicago, Illinois.
